Going to the Chapel

by Carla Loots

Nothing captures the timelessness of love quite like the silhouette of our Chapel, complete with steps, faux stained glass, and a bell tower. Churches have been the symbolic heart of weddings for centuries. They represent sacred vows, community, support, and the blessing of a higher power on the couple’s union. Even as more couples marry in gardens, vineyards, or city lofts, the outline of a steeple or a bell tower remains one of the most recognisable wedding images worldwide. Even those who don’t marry in churches still feel the romance and the love associated with it.

Designing and incorporating our Chapel into the course was one of the most joyful parts of building our wedding putt-putt experience. We loved re-imagining a timeless symbol of vows and blessings as something playful and interactive. Guests must send their ball gently up the steps and through the chapel to score. It’s challenging enough to be fun, but still approachable for guests of varying levels of skills, making it perfect for a wedding reception.

Whether your wedding takes place in a garden, on a beach, or in a grand cathedral, the Chapel on our course reminds guests of the sacredness beneath the celebration. Guests will smile as they aim for the chapel doors, and you can almost hear them whisper, “Here comes the ball.” It’s a lighthearted way of weaving tradition into a modern reception, letting love’s most enduring imagery become part of the fun
